Newport Beach Vacation Rentals Commonly Asked Questions

What does fully-furnished and fully-equipped mean?

Each property has appropriate furniture in every room. The kitchen has pots, pans, utensils, flatware, dishes, cups, glasses, kitchen towels, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave. A barbecue and barbecue utensils are available. Linens for each bed are included along with extra blankets. Bath towels are included as are beach towels. Please use only the beach towels on the beach. Four beach chairs are generally included as well. Please see the property descriptions regarding washers and dryers in the units or coin-operated washer and dryer in the garage.

What do I need to bring?

You should bring personal items like soap, shampoo and lotion. A hairdryer is available. You will definitely need sunscreen. Bring a sweater or wrap, even in the summer, as the evenings can be cool.

Why is the check-in time so late and the check-out time so early?

Each occupied property must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and all linens and towels must be replaced between guests in that small window of time. Unfortunately, it is a lot to accomplish. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a half day charge depending on the season and occupancy.

How does the security deposit work?

The security deposit amount will be authorized on your credit card, but will not be captured unless there are missing or damaged items or furniture must be rearranged.

Why are summer rentals only Saturday to Saturday?

Most summer rentals on the Balboa Peninsula are (and historically have been) Saturday to Saturday. This allows us to provide the largest number of guests the opportunity to have a week at the beach. Most of our guests have been staying at our units for many years and we hope you will, too. There may be occasions where we do have an extra day available so please inquire the week before you arrive.

Where do I pick up the keys?

Someone will be at the property with your keys between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. Please call us and let us know your approximate arrival time. If we cannot meet you, we will set up a lockbox on your door with your keys.

Why do I need to lock the trash bin?

We have found that neighbors and visitors will often use our trash bins to anonymously dispose of large amounts of refuse, large items and occasionally even toxic substances requiring special handling like motor oil, paint, etc. We want our bins to be available for our guests and locking them is the only way we have found to insure that there is sufficient space for our guests.

What parking spaces may I use?

The space for your unit is marked. Please be considerate to other guests and park only in your assigned space and do not block the cars of other guests. Parking is precious on the Peninsula and our spots may be tight for large vehicles. We have had some damage to load bearing posts and have installed protective posts around them, so please be very careful when backing up. Also, some properties cannot handle very high profile vehicles so check the height of your vehicle and any roof racks or containers. Guests with multiple cars will often park their extra cars on the street in the vicinity and shuttle people to those cars if necessary. Watch out for street cleaning days if you do park on the street.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes, wi-fi is available at all the properties. There are also several places in town with wi-fi as well.
